Contract awarded with Department of Labor

TSS is awarded a contract by the Department of Labor to Install and Develop a Training Center in Nigeria for the Armed Forces Resettlement Center, (NAFRC).

The NAFRC project is designed to provide Information Technology training that will provide a bridge to retiring Nigerian military personnel, as they rotate back into civilian life. The USDOL's mission is to bring information technology resources to the NAFRC, through establishing and equipping a classroom at their Oshodi Lagos facility in Nigeria with computers and related equipment that will be used for computer-based training in the following areas:

  • Basic personal computer operation and skills
  • Basic personal computer applications, e.g., word processing, electronic spreadsheets, Internet browsers, e-mail
  • Small business applications, e.g., contacts management, accounting, personnel, inventory management
  • Self-paced, computer based training in small business planning, development and management skills.

Additionally, there is an interest in exploring the use of computers for self-paced remedial and basic education in literacy and numeracy.

In this way, the USDOL, in partnership with USDOD and other USG agencies, has agreed to help revitalize the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Center (NAFRC) located in the Oshodi area of Lagos, Nigeria.

TSS has developed a team that has formidable technical and management capabilities for performing all the requirements. In addition, our team has specific and current hands-on knowledge of Nigeria in general and Lagos in particular, bringing extensive experience and knowledge of the Nigerian culture as well as an understanding of how to operate within the unique environment of Lagos.
